Dana believes in treating every client's individual needs and each client is the expert of his or her life. She feels it is very important to meet clients where they are and build strong rapport with everyone who enters her office while providing a safe and open environment. Dana enjoys assiting her clients with recognizing and utilizing their strengths to their fullest potential. Dana enjoys challenging her clients as she recognizes that in order to create positive change in our lives, it is important to challenge ourselves. Dana recognizes that every experience we have in life, whether positive or negative, offers a powerful opportunity to examine and learn healthier ways to navigate through our lives. Dana works collaboratively with her clients in order to assist them with becoming more aware of the thoughts that influence emotional reactions and the relationships that they have with others. Dana provides individual therapy to children, adolescents, and adults as well as marriage and family therapy.
  Dana earned her bachelor's degree in psychology from McKendree University and her Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from St. Louis University. She has a diverse range of experiences including working with children and families in foster care, outpatient and inpatient settings, academic settings, and she utilizes many theoretical approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy, interpersonal techniques, solution focused techniques, strength based/supportive therapy, family systems therapy, and motivational interviewing. Dana has worked with youth and families who have had needs related to anxiety disorders, depression, adjustment difficulties, post traumatic stress disorder, marital/family conflict, stress management, phase of life concerns, to name a few.
  In her spare time, Dana enjoys traveling with her husband and family, watching sports both on television and in person, trying new restaurants, bike riding, hiking, and playing sports. Dana is an amataur competitive bowler with aspirations of becoming a professional bowler. She has won a national tournament and has bowled several perfect 300 games.
